Movement with Persis *December 2025 Newsletter*

Persis Meisters | DEC 7, 2025

Hello everyone! ❤️

Happy December!

This month’s newsletter is all about mental health and stress—especially with the holiday season approaching.

Remember to carve out some time for you over the next few days and weeks. Yoga, walks, breath work, meditation, a facial, unplugging from social media (anyone else overloaded with Black Friday ads?!), or simply sitting quietly for a moment. Slow things down where you can.

There’s lots to share this month, so let’s dive in…

With love,
Persis

Thoughts From the Woods: A Reflection on Stress and Slowing Down

Stress is a silent killer.

Most people don’t even realize they’re stressed. We’re constantly bombarded by text messages, social media, fear based news, emails, bills, rising costs, to-do lists, meetings… and somewhere in all of that noise, we lose connection with our own bodies.

Science-backed stress facts:
Chronic stress isn’t “in your head”—it creates real, measurable changes in the body. Elevated cortisol over long periods has been linked to increased inflammation, higher blood pressure, impaired digestion, weakened immune function, sleep disturbances, and changes in memory and concentration. Long-term stress also disrupts the connection between the brain and the vagus nerve, making it harder for the body to return to a calm, regulated state. Over time, this adds strain to the cardiovascular system and raises the risk of chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and metabolic issues.

The tricky part? When stress becomes your normal, you stop noticing it.

It’s only when you finally step away from it all and spend time in nature that you realize how far from the natural rhythm of life we’ve drifted.

During my recent 10-day trip, on day two I went out for my first walk in the woods to check on my favourite hunting spots. I stepped into the bush and found myself rushing through the forest. Then I caught myself…
Why am I rushing?
This was supposed to be a moment to slow down, tune in, breathe. So I stopped. Took a breath. Became mindful. Let myself settle.

In my experience, it often takes a few days to unwind into that slower, more conscious pace.

And let me tell you—after spending that much time away from the speed of city life, going back feels jarring to the nervous system. The traffic, the packed grocery stores, the constant push to consume things we don’t even need… it’s overstimulation we barely notice until we’re away from it.

If you can, I highly encourage you to rent a little cabin in the woods for a few days or go camping. Turn your phone off. Step away from the hustle and bustle. Give your brain and body a real reset.

If you can’t get away for a few days, yoga is another fantastic option. It brings you back into the present moment, helps you tune into what’s happening in your body, and strengthens your ability to focus. Over time, it also builds mental fortitude by training the mind to stay steady and centered.

Your nervous system will thank you.

Book Recommendation of the Month:

Something Fun!

Normally I recommend books that are related to health and wellness, but this month lets focus on some positive fun vibes and go with a book that is funny, at times ridiculous, educational, and makes you feel like you took a trip to a far away island!

J. MaartenTroost takes you along on his real-life adventure to a remote island in the South Pacific, and his storytelling is hilarious, chaotic, and surprisingly insightful. It’s one of those books that makes you laugh out loud but also quietly appreciate the beauty (and madness) of life in a totally different culture.

Two Months of Patches: An Update

I’ve been using Super Patch for a little over two months now, and it’s officially part of my morning routine. Brush my teeth, shower, Vitamin D drops, patches on… and yes, getting dressed too — that part really matters! 😉

My current patch routine includes Peace (my daily mental health support), Defend (which has made a huge difference in my lifelong sinus inflammation), and lately I’ve been trying Lumi for skin regeneration — perfect for keeping my skin happy through these dry winter months.

My husband has been trying the patches too. He was pretty skeptical at first, but two months later he’s the one asking me for them. He doesn’t like going without them now. He’s noticed less stress, better energy, and a major improvement in his balance — especially when out hiking in the forest.

My patients who’ve tried the patches have been pleasantly surprised, too. They have seen improvements in balance with the Liberty Patch, significant pain reduction from periods to chronic accident-related pain with Freedom, more sustained energy on busy days with Boost, and better strength and recovery with Victory… and honestly, the list goes on.

Joining the Super Patch team for me wasn’t about making money. It was about sharing something that truly helps people feel and live better — without pills, and without side-effect worries.

No drugs. No chemicals. FDA registered. Backed by clinical research.

If you’d like to try them out, I have some in stock at the studio — 7-day trial packs and full 28-day packs available.

Want more info? Message me! Or check out their website below.

When you go to my site, you're going to see $99 as the patch price, don't don't panic, they're only $69 to $65 each with the code SAVE.

Super Patch Q &A:

A common question I get is from people who try the patches for a few days and don’t feel the results they were hoping for. Why didn’t it work right away?

It's kind of like going to the gym once and asking "Why am I not fit and all my injuries healed?" 😅

The patches work through the nervous system, helping create new neural connections and gently reframing brain-wave patterns — and that can take time.

Everyone’s body responds differently, and some patches act quicker than others (like the Freedom patch for pain). In other cases, you might not even realize they’re working until someone else points it out.

When I asked Dr. Toker (from the company’s Medical Advisory Board) about this, she shared a great example:

“I didn’t realize the Peace patch was working until the people around me were shocked at how calmly I handled adversity — unlike my usual spicy personality when someone cuts me off in traffic.”

Sometimes the shifts are subtle at first… but they add up. It is recommended that you try the patches out for 1-3 months to see the full benefit.

And so concludes the December Newsletter! Thank you for taking the time to read!

Now get out there, get some movement in, breathe, and keep BEING POSITIVE!
