Movement with Persis *August 2025 Newsletter*
Persis Meisters | DEC 4, 2025
Hello Everyone! ❤️
I can hardly believe we’re already in August — and there are so many lovely things to share with you this month!
First, a little personal update: I’ve been soaking up every bit of summer alongside my husband Bruce, our loyal pup Petra, and our newest furry family members — two lovebug kittens named Winston and Churchill.
Lately, I’ve been keeping busy with all the joys that come with the season: fishing to stash yummy goodness for winter, canning homemade jams, freezing garden-fresh tomatoes, and gathering herbs from the garden to dry. It’s been a fulfilling rhythm of work and play, and I’m so grateful for the pace of these long summer days.
I truly hope you're enjoying this beautiful (and thankfully, not too hot!) season just as much. And for those of you I haven’t seen in a while — I’d love to hear from you. Drop me an email and let me know how life is going on your end.
With love,
Persis

The lovely Melissa is making a return trip from Mexico in September to do a little more teaching here in the Okanagan! We are proud to present a new workshop in September combining mind and body balancing, and nature therapy.
Sept 27 & 28 | Movement with Persis Studio in Joe Rich (just 15 min from Kelowna)
10 AM–1 PM daily | $300 CAD for both days
Co‑hosted by Melissa Verton (Specialized Kinesiologist and 35+ years of Raja Yoga teaching experience) and Persis (Kinesiologist, Yoga teacher, outdoor explorer)
Saturday – The Inner Compass
• Decode your emotional–energetic patterns
• Learn to interpret stress signals
• Strengthen your intuitive connection through mindful movement
Sunday – The Mind‑Body Framework
• Understand how stress physiology interacts with breath & chakras
• Utilize breathwork, meditation & The Feeling Finder tool to regulate & realign
• Embrace daily practices for clarity, energy balance & healing
At 1 PM each day, Persis will lead a mindful hike through nature—teaching about local plants, wildlife, and animal tracks. Reflect on the workshop, connect with others, and ground your insights in the healing rhythms of the land.
Held on a beautiful 10‑acre mountain farm surrounded by autumn hues, horses, gardens & wildflowers—ideal space to reset & recharge
Builds on the momentum and popularity of your sold‑out spring workshop
A rare chance to work closely with Melissa & Persis in a small‑group, integrative retreat
Spaces are limited and this is a one‑time offering for 2025. If you’ve been waiting for an opportunity to focus on both physical and mental health, this is it. Use this weekend to realign your body, mind and spirit before the season shifts.

With Mel Robbins ft. Dr. David Rosmarin

I listened to this podcast last week, and it was a game changer. It hit so close to home that I found myself in tears—honestly, I cried for a good half hour. But afterward, I felt lighter.
Anxiety isn’t something to fix — it’s something to understand.
In this powerful episode, Harvard psychiatrist Dr. David Rosmarin shares how to stop fearing your fear and start using anxiety as a tool for growth.
You’ll learn:
Why anxiety is normal — and not always bad
A 4-step method to interrupt spiralling thoughts
How to support others without trying to "fix" them
A must-listen if you’ve ever felt overwhelmed.
It can also be found on Spotify!

And so concludes the August Newsletter! Thank you for taking the time to read!
Now get out there, get some movement in, breathe, and keep BEING POSITIVE!
