Hello to everyone! And welcome to the January Newsletter!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday and rang in the New Year with positive vibes!

Over the past few days I have had some interesting conversations with clients about New Years Resolutions. I've never been a big fan of New Years Resolutions because often they are done because one feels obligated to make them, very little planning goes into reaching those resolutions, and sadly even with good intentions within a few weeks or months there is a loss of interest and motivation to strive towards the things we set out to do.

Couple of things to ponder about this...

Winter is a time of rest. As a big fan of nature I try and take cues from the beautiful planet we live on. In Winter here in the Okanagan it is cool, plants are dormant, animals often hibernate, the forest is quiet.

Although I stay productive and active during the winter, I also look at it as a perfect time for self reflection, planning, setting goals, and learning. A time to rest, rejuvenate, and prepare for the busy year ahead (especially summer on the farm).

All the recent talk about New Years Resolutions got me to pondering how I can help people to move towards their health goals in a more productive, and long lasting way. To INSPIRE.

I also had a conversation a few days ago with a long time client about life purpose, and over time the conversation lead to the question of "What feeds your soul?".

What makes you excited? What is your passion? What makes you think "I FEEL ALIVE!".

Im not talking about being excited to go out for a night on the town, excited about eating a bagel at the Mount Royal Bagel Factory (although if you haven't been there your should go and try it!), or getting a new "insert item you can purchase".

Think deeper! Think to a moment or adventure you have had that changed your life. Maybe a time when you tried something that was really hard. Maybe it was when you learned a new skill even though it was difficult. Perhaps it changed the way you think and perceive things.

And if you haven't had one of those adventures, ponder something you would like to do. Something that you have a curiosity about, something that fires up the energy inside of you. Maybe that adventure seems too ridiculous, or impossible. Well in the wonderful words of Alice in Wonderland "Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.". I encourage you to think on the impossible, and then get out there and try it! Find what feeds your soul!

So one of my goals for this year is to help INSPIRE YOU!

Inspire you to strive to be more! Strive to be smarter, stronger, healthier, more balanced in both the physical and mental aspect.

I often get questions about vitamins and supplements. While I do have education regarding nutrition, I often refer clients to speak with their local Pharmacist to address questions about adding anything to your routine.

Vitamins and supplements can be very beneficial to your health! However they are not something that should be taken lightly. Many vitamins and supplements can be dangerous in certain dosages and can also interact with other medications you may be taking.

Examine.com has been around for a very long time (I used it when I was studying in University). It provides fantastic science based information that is reliable and comprehensive.
